Chasing tone

Holes and More

Every guitar that I build is an exercise in producing an ideal tone, maximizing every part of the wood being used to craft an instrument that is balanced, open, and responsive. I utilize side sound ports, variations on the famous Martin X-bracing and tone bars, careful attention to wood strength and grain orientation; and a constant drive to create a guitar that responds to every touch of its owner.

The Look

A guitar has to sound great, but that’s not enough. Every instrument from Murphy Guitars is crafted with an eye toward visual appeal. Each and every instrument is built to catch your eye and keep you coming back looking for more. Through careful attention to grain detail, back-strapping headstocks, custom inlay options and the occasional surprise tucked inside there’s always more to explore with a Murphy Guitar.
